Mr. Jehyun Kim is a patent attorney with more than 30 years of experience advising global companies on patent prosecution, IP disputes, licensing, IP due diligence for mergers and acquisitions, and international IP strategy. Leveraging longstanding relationships with overseas clients and an extensive international network, he delivers comprehensive intellectual property legal services tailored to complex cross-border business needs.

Mr. Jehyun Kim passed the Patent Attorney Examination in 1994. Since then, he has built a career working at prestigious firms including Kim & Chang, COEX Patent & Law Firm, and Yoon & Yang LLC. In 2005, he joined LEE & MOCK IP, where he currently serves as a Deputy Managing Patent Attorney.

Mr. Kim is primarily responsible for handling international client matters, quality control, and client relations within the Mechanical & Electronic departments at LEE & MOCK IP. He consistently fosters strong collaborative relationships with foreign clients and law firms through regular visits and participation in international conferences.

Mr. Kim’s areas of practice encompass patent prosecution, trials and litigation, freedom-to-operate (FTO) and infringement analysis, client counseling, intellectual property (IP) due diligence for M&A transactions, and licensing negotiations.

Mr. Kim has represented numerous global corporations, including Nokia and Renault, as well as university research institutes and venture companies in patent prosecution and trial cases. He has conducted IP due diligence for domestic M&A transactions involving entities such as Otis and Motorola, and has led licensing negotiations for foreign enterprises like DVA. Furthermore, he has participated in high-profile patent litigation cases, including Samsung Electronics v. Apple and Kimberly-Clark v. Ssangyong Paper. He has also served as a member of the legal team in U.S. litigations, such as Hynix v. Texas Instruments and Samsung Electronics v. Alcatel.

Mr. Kim is an active member of international IP organizations, including AIPPI, INTA, and APAA, and served as the President of AIPPI Korea from 2017 to 2023. Additionally, he has participated as a speaker and panelist at various international events, including the AIPPI World Congress in Seoul, the German Chamber of Patent Attorneys (Patentanwaltskammer), ABA, and AIPLA.(Patentanwaltskammer), ABA, and AIPLA.
