After passing the Korean Patent Attorney Examination in 2017, Ms. Jee-eun Yeom began practicing at LEE & MOCK IP as a patent attorney in 2018, specializing in the biotechnology and pharmaceutical sectors. Her practice encompasses a broad range of intellectual property matters, including domestic and international patent prosecution, prior-art searches and patentability analyses, patent search and analysis, freedom-to-operate (FTO) and infringement analysis, patent trend surveys, and IP strategy consulting and counseling services. Building upon a robust track record of securing rights for innovative technologies through close collaboration with a diverse spectrum of clients—ranging from major domestic corporations and SMEs to promising biotech ventures and university technology transfer offices (TLOs)—she delivers specialized IP services across the biotech, pharmaceutical, and healthcare industries.

Ms. Yeom’s primary areas of technical expertise encompass next-generation biotechnology, including nucleic acids, peptides, antibody therapeutics, cell and gene therapies, CRISPR/Cas9 gene editing, recombinant vector systems, and drug delivery systems (DDS). Additionally, she manages small-molecule synthetic drugs and pharmaceutical formulation technologies, alongside cosmetics, food, and animal feed technologies based on diverse materials and processes, such as natural extracts and microorganisms. Additionally, she has experience in managing global patent strategies for core patents related to technology transfers (L/O) to global pharmaceutical companies or domestic biotechnology companies, while providing optimal IP solutions to support her clients’ global business success.
