Since passing the Korean Patent Attorney examination in 1997, Ms. Younhee Kim has been providing intellectual property services across domestic and international matters, with a focus on telecommunications, electronics, computers, and software. She has extensive hands-on experience in patent prosecution, Office Action responses, technical analysis, and patent portfolio strategy in cutting-edge fields including optical device standards, artificial intelligence (AI), image quality processing, and DTV software.

To deepen her legal expertise, Ms. Kim earned an LL.B. from Korea National Open University and completed an LL.M. program at the University of Southern California Gould School of Law in 2013. During this period, she also worked at Sughrue Mion, a patent-specialized law firm in Washington, D.C., gaining direct experience in U.S. patent law and USPTO practice. This background has equipped her with practical capabilities in formulating overseas prosecution strategies and collaborating with foreign counsel.

Ms. Kim has handled freedom-to-operate (FTO) analyses and patent portfolio strategy in the medical device field, including oral scanner technology. She also has experience with litigation and trials, including patent infringement litigation and invalidation trials involving light-emitting wheel technology, as well as patent litigation related to remote education patents of a Korea-based global electronics company. These engagements have honed her ability to analyze key issues, build response strategies, and interpret patent rights at the trial and litigation stages.

Drawing on this diverse background, Ms. Kim provides comprehensive intellectual property services, including domestic and international patent drafting, Office Action responses, appeals and litigation, freedom-to-operate analysis, and patent valuation.
